Iranian Parliament Condemns Killing of Hamas Leader

TEHRAN, April 18 (MNA) -- Iranian parliament condemned the assassination of the Palestinian Hamas leader Abdul-Aziz al-Rantissi, a statement released by the parliament said on Sunday.

The killing of Hamas leader in less than a month in which the Zionist terror network killed the Hamas founder and spiritual leader Sheikh Ahmed Yassin once again demonstrated the anti-human nature of the Zionist regime to the world, the statement said.

Rantissi, who was appointed as Hamas leader after Israel killed Sheikh Ahmad Yassin on March 22, died after missiles hit his car.

Ever since its inception, the Zionist regime has been fomenting terror or violating laws; besides, it has ignored all resolutions adopted by the United Nations, the statement added.

It said, fortunately, today the people across the world have realized the dangerous nature of the Zionist regime.

The Zionist crimes and its occupation of Palestinian lands have not been possible without the U.S. financial and military support, the Iranian lawmakers stressed in their statement.

The Iranian parliament has asked all the free parliamentarians in the world to devise a plan for thwarting the anti-human plots of the Zionist officials.

It also asked the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and the Arab League to set up an immediate session and take resolute decisions against the Zionist regime and its allies particularly the U.S.

Rantissi was fatally wounded after at least two missiles slammed into his car at about 2030 (1730 GMT) on Saturday, as it drove through the Sheik Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City.

The Palestinian Prime Minister, Ahmed Qurei, said Israel's "terrorist campaign" was "a direct result of American encouragement and the complete bias of the American administration towards the Israeli government."
