Alborz Dam to be finished in the first half of 2009

IRINN quoted Mazandaran Regional Water Company’s Managing Director Azizollah Vahed as saying, “Alborz embankment dam with water capacity of 150 million cubic meters and an adjustment capacity of 165 million cubic meters is one of the nation’s greatest dams.”

“Up to now some $153 million have been spent on the construction of this 78-meter-high dam,” he added.

“Galvard Dam is also 26 percent complete. The water capacity of the dam is 107 million cubic meters,” he explained adding that Galvard will be constructed at an estimated cost of $280 million.
