Gaza death toll exceeds 24,000: health ministry

TEHRAN, Jan. 15 (MNA) – Gaza health ministry said Monday that at least 24,100 people have died in the Gaza Strip since tensions escalated in West Asia on October 7, 2023.

According to Russian TASS new agency , the press service of the Gaza Strip authorities said a total of 60,834 people were injured. The press service added that 132 people were killed and another 252 were injured in Gaza over the past 24 hours as a result of the Israeli army's atrocities.

Many bodies of the dead remain under the rubble of buildings destroyed by the shelling and on Gaza's roads, the statement said. Rescuers and local civil defense officials have been unable to reach them.

The Zionist Israeli regime waged a genocidal war on the besieged Gaza Strip shortly after the Hamas-launched successful operation Al-Aqsa Storm on October 7.

According to Palestinian affairs observers, the Zionist regime's campaign has gone far beyond retaliating against the Hamas operation, which itself came after the Zionists regularly stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque in showing disrespect for Muslims' sanctities in the holy Qudsand forcibly relocated them.
