Iranian FM Spokesman Condemns Shooting at UK Compound in Tehran

TEHRAN, September 15 (Mehr News Agency)—Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hamid-Reza Assefi here on Monday condemned the fresh shooting at the UK compound in Tehran.

"The shooting, by unknown person or persons at the British Embassy in Tehran is by no means acceptable," said Assefi, the Mehr News Agency reported.

"The Iranian Foreign Ministry will follow the case through relevant authorities in order to identify the offenders and to take legal actions against them," Assefi further added.

More shots have been fired outside the British Embassy compound in Tehran, the third such incident this month. Two shots were fired on Sunday evening, but no one was injured, according to an embassy spokesperson.

No group has claimed responsibility for any of the attacks, which Iranian officials had earlier described as illogical and unacceptable.
