Parl. approves bill to establish UN APDIM in Iran

TEHRAN, Aug. 18 (MNA) – Iranian lawmakers have given the green light to the government to establish the Asian and Pacific Centre for the Development of Disaster Information Management (APDIM) in the country.

During Sunday’s open session, 174 lawmakers voted in favor of the bill, one against, and three in abstention.

The approval was issued based on an agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).

ESCAP serves as the United Nations’ regional hub promoting cooperation among countries to achieve inclusive and sustainable development.
