The Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte offered greetings to President Rouhani of the Islamic Republic of Iran over his victory in the reelection bid. Mr. Rutte highlighted the role of Iran in the regional development and called for deeper bilateral ties between Tehran and Amsterdam.
The British Prime Minister Theresa May was another European leader who sent a congratulatory message to President Rouhani of the Islamic Republic of Iran after Rouhani’s success in winning the second term in Iran’s presidential office.
May stressed on Tehran-London relations in her message and voiced hope that Mr. Rouhani’s second term in office would provide the opportunity for establishing better bilateral ties based on mutual interests.
Before May and Rutte, other European leaders like Austrian president, Swiss president, and Greek prime minister had sent congratulatory messages to Mr. Rouhani.
