Head of the Iran-Russia parliamentary friendship group Ramazanali Sobhanifar made the remarks during a meeting in Tehran joined by the Russian Senator Igor Morozov, a member of the friendship group.
The Iranian MP pointed to age-old ties between the two countries and emphasized the need to expand bilateral ties in all economic, trade, political and cultural fields; “strengthening of Tehran-Moscow relations, as two major and influential states, would benefit both nations.”
The official went on to note that Iran’s Parliament, specialized commissions and the friendship group were fully ready to support reinvigoration of relations between the two sides in all arenas.
Sobhanifar, while referring to remarkable capacities in economic ties between Iran and Russia, expounded that the two nations enjoyed excellent potentials which could pave the path for development of multilateral cooperation.
He further reiterated that enhancement of banking and customs relations remained as two main factors in line with elevation of existing partnerships.
Also at the meeting, Russia’s Morozov touched upon the growing trend of collaborations between Iran and Russia stressing the importance of exchanging parliamentary delegations between the two countries.
He also voiced Russia’s eagerness to boost complementary ties between Tehran and Moscow.
