Larijani meets Kazakh, Tajik counterparts in Moscow

TEHRAN, Apr. 19 (MNA) – Ali Larijani, the speaker of Iran’s Parliament, met with his Kazakh and Tajik counterparts on the sidelines of the Eurasian Parliament Speakers Summit in Moscow.

“Iran is a major role player, not only in the regional arena but also on the international scene,” said Kabibulla Dzhakupov, Kazakh Chairman of the Majilis of Parliament, on Tuesday, in his meeting with Ali Larijani, the Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, who is in Moscow at the invitation of Russian State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin to attend the Eurasian parliamentary meeting.

The Kazakh legislator invited Iranian researchers and experts to attend in a seminar titled “Religion Against Terrorism” which is to be held in Kazakhstan’s capital city of Astana.

In addition to talks on terrorism and the necessity of fight with the phenomenon of ISIL, the two officials invited each other to their countries for expansion of parliamentarian cooperation.

Iran is determined to develop all-out relations with Tajikistan, underlined Iran’s top MP in his meeting with Tajik Speaker of the Lower Chamber of parliament, Shukurjon Zuhurov who is also in Moscow to attend the summit.

Larijani continued that the situation is good for developing relations and currently the cooperation between the two countries is boosting as the path is open without barriers.

Zuhurov, also in the same meeting, hailed the historical and cultural commonalities between the two countries and described the commonalities as a good context for expansion of ties.

Mehdi Sanaie, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Moscow was also present in Larijani’s bilateral meetings.

The event hosts 19 parliament speakers from Iran, Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan Republic, Belarus, Vietnam, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Cambodia, Mongolia, Pakistan, South Korea, Russia, Thailand, the Philippines and Czech Republic.
