The International Senior Free style, Greco-Roman and Pahlavani wrestling Tournament (Takhti Cup) was held on January 14-15, 2016 at the 12,000-seat hall of the Azadi Sports Complex.
The freestyle section was attended by 107 wrestlers from 13 countries where Iranian freestylers won the titles by securing 80 and 90 points, respectively.
Iran was followed by Armenia and Belarus free-style wrestlers with a large margin by 26 and 25 points respectively.
A total of 95 wrestlers from 9 countries had taken part in the Greco-Roman wrestling competitions were Iranian teams gained 79 points leading to the top of the matches.
Greco Roman wrestlers from Ukraine gained 38 points to rank second to be followed by Azerbaijani competitors who gained 22 points.
Pahlavani wrestling event was the competing scene for 30 wrestlers from 12 countries where Iranian wrestlers, Hamid Elahian (70kg) and Ahmad Mirzapour (+90kg), finished first.
