Muslims of all creeds oppose terrorism

TEHRAN, Dec. 23 (MNA) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, pointing to Muslim's everlasting war on terrorism, said Muslims of all stripes reject terrorist ideology.

Speaking in meeting with a member of the Scottish National Party Alex Salmond here on Tuesday, Larijani noted, "Making use of their capabilities, Iran and Scotland can establish close cooperation in the field of culture, education and energy."

Pointing to the recent terrorist acts across the world, Larijani added the atrocities of terrorists has nothing to do with any branch of Muslim groups, since they have always struggled such behaviors.

"Muslims of all creeds worldwide have repeatedly denounced such acts of violence distancing themselves from the terrorists," he underlined,

For his part, Scottish side said the visit of his team to Iran aims at enhancing economic, cultural and educational cooperation with Iran.

"Given that we have seen great capabilities in Iran, Scotland is keen to begin cooperation with Iran as soon as possible," Salmond said, expressing hope Tehran and Edinburgh would take positive steps in this regard.

He stressed Scottish National Party has always been opposed to the West’s decisions against Iran, believing that such policies causing many problems both for Iran and other countries, are fundamentally wrong.

He also criticized US new visa waiver law calling it a wrong decision and expressing hope it would be amended as soon as possible.

Tasmina Ahmed-Sheikh Scottish, a Muslim female member of Scotland's National Party politician also praised Iranian parliament in terms of technology and equipment, calling it more up to date than the British Parliament.

"I am a Muslim who tries to fight against Islamophobia in the world and to promote a correct image of Islam in the world," she underlined.
