Araghchi tells Parl. US ‘made concessions in N-talks’

TEHRAN, Oct. 20 (MNA) – Iran’s deputy-FM for Legal and International Affairs has told Parliament about the US concessions in the nuclear talks.

Javad Karimi Qoddousi, Mashhad’s representative to the Parliament and a member of National Security and Foreign Policy Commission told Mehr news Parliamentary correspondent that Seyed Abbas Araghchi presented Commission’s session with a report on nuclear talks, where Araghchi reportedly said about US concessions, notable among others being US coming in terms with 4000 active centrifuges, while “in New York and Vienna talks US would not accept 1300 centrifuges.”

Araghchi was quoted by Qoddousi as refuting the stories that talks had produced ultimate outcomes as baseless. “Mr. Araghchi emphasized for 4 times that the story was baseless,” Karimi Qoddousi said.

Hassan Qashqavi, deputy-FM for Parliamentary Affairs also attended the session where he quoted Zarif’s response to his question about the ultimate fate of the negotiations, and Zarif had not reportedly ruled out the claim, saying that in no single issue, Iran and G5+1 reached a final agreement.

“Mr. Araghchi told the session that the problem over sanctions removal and enrichment amount still should be solved; Iran has currently 9400 active centrifuges, and 20,000 others, some of which received injection of uranium hexafluoride gas,” Karimi Qoddousi told Mehr News.

“Commission members emphasized that any concessions in the negotiations was a redline for the system and the Leader of the Islamic Republic; Iran’s concession in accepting west’s conditions that disconnecting some of centrifuges was a thing of the past talks; we also demanded that all sanctions be removed in one single moment. Furthermore, we believe that removal of sanctions targeting banks and economy would not be a big deal, since sanctions still hit individuals, machinery, and technology in nuclear industry,” Karimi Qoddousi detailed.

“Iran plans to construct new power plants and increase enrichment level; this is unacceptable that west exploits every pretext to continue pressure of sanctions over Iran since it did not trust Iran,” he said.

“Commission members told FM officials present in the session that in any deal with west, the issue of Iran’s 190K SWU centrifuges should be clearly stated, which would allow Iran to attain this improvement in its industry by seven years,” he quoted his colleagues in the commission.

Karimi Qoddousi also quoted Araghchi emphasizing that apart from enrichment and sanctions, Iran and the 5+1 had reached agreement on Fordow, IAEA inspections and Protocols.
