The delegation consisting of 17 business entrepreneurs is lead by Mrs. Nun Tavan, the Director-General of Foreign Trade of Thailand Ministry of Commerce, are in Tehran for some meetings with Iranian officials. 7 people of the delegation operate in public sector and other 10 people operate in private sector. Their visit will continue until next Saturday
Thai delegation will meet with officials of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, Iran and Tehran Chamber of Commerce, trade unions, and businessmen.
The will focus on caoutchouc, food industry, automaking and automobile spare parts, electronic and home appliances on their meetings with Iranian officials.
Adisorndej Sukhasvasti, Thailand ambassador to Tehran had visited last month Dr. Rouhani the president where she expressed willingness and will for a breakthrough in bilateral trade, and economic, political, and cultural relations. “We highly evaluate cooperation with Iran in investment especially in oil and gas, agriculture, heavy industries, and banking sectors,” she was quoted to have said.
She had told Iran Persian Service that Tehran and Bangkok enjoyed ample opportunities for a leap in bilateral trade, and hoped that the trade balance between two countries would improve.
The data on Iran and Thailand trade balance was $ 336m in 2013, with $ 332m as Thailand’s exports to Iran and $ 3.26m imports from Iran.
