Israel plans 1,500 more settlement units

TEHRAN, Oct. 14 (MNA) – The Israeli regime is planning to construct 1,500 more illegal settlement units in al-Quds (Jerusalem), further defying international law against the move.

According to press sources within the Zionist regime, the new settlement expansion effort on Palestinian territories is part of a project approved by the regime back in August.

This is while the occupying regime has come under fire by the international community, including its own allies, over its expansionist policies.

However, it has persistently defied repeated calls to abandon the illegal settlement construction projects.

Moreover, the Palestinian Authority considers the settlement activities as a major hindrance to its US-sponsored negotiations with the Tel Aviv regime.

The Israeli settlements are illegal under international law.

More than half a million Israelis live in over 120 settlements built since Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and East al-Quds in 1967.
