Hossein Alizadeh to perform at Tehran’s National Grand Hall

TEHRAN, Aug. 27 (MNA) -- Tar virtuoso Hossein Alizadeh is to give performances of a concert along with his back-up band Hamavayan at Tehran’s National Grand Hall from September 5 until 7.

In a press conference held here on Sunday, Alizadeh gave details about the concerts saying that they will be divided into two sections.

“In the first section I shall be giving an improvised performance together with tombak player Majid Khalaj, and the second section will include musical arrangements performed by four vocalists and eight musicians,” he added.

Alizadeh went on to explain that the members of the Hamavayan band mostly play contemporary musical works, although he added that they are also all familiar with Persian traditional music.

Alizadeh, who composed the music for the Iranian TV series “Under the Blade”, broadcast last year on IRIB channel one, noted that they will not be performing this particular music during the concert as it requires a large band.

He also requested that the House of Music pay due attention to the holding of concerts in the provinces.
