Fidan emphasized that the behavior of the Israeli cabinet risks undermining political and diplomatic initiatives aimed at halting the conflict.
Meanwhile, the Hebrew daily Yedioth Ahronoth reported that Netanyahu’s recent remarks have placed the US-proposed peace plan by President Donald Trump in jeopardy.
In separate comments on Syria, Fidan said Turkey rejects any form of foreign interference or attempts to divide the country. He added that Ankara’s diplomatic efforts are focused on fully supporting the Syrian government, describing the upcoming parliamentary elections as a “historic milestone” for Syria.
Fidan’s warning came hours after Netanyahu reiterated his determination to continue military aggression in Gaza despite mounting domestic and international pressure to end the war.
The Israeli premier said the army would push forward with its operations in the heart of the Gaza Strip until all captives are returned and all military objectives are achieved.
