Amir-Abdollahian, WEF president discuss energy security

TEHRAN, Jan. 18 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and World Economic Forum President Børge Brende have met, discussing a range of issues including Gaza and energy security.

Amir-bdollahian and Brende met on Wednesday on the sidelines of the 54th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

The Iranian diplomat said that his country and the World Economic Forum can have cooperation in economic fields as well as energy security.

He also referred to the Gaza war and the US support for the Israeli regime in its crimes against Palestinians there.

The top Iranian diplomat said that the Islamic Republic of Iran backs efforts aimed at preventing the spillover of the war and restoring peace and stability to the West Asia region.

He also elaborated on Iran’s efforts to create mechanisms that guarantee energy security in a bid to alleviate concerns in the region and the world.

Børge Brende, for his part, said that at the current time, all efforts should be directed at preventing the spread of the Gaza war.

He described Iran as a key player in regional and global arrangements, and announced his readiness to evaluate ways of cooperation on energy security.
