New Irish ambassador submits credentials to Ahmadinejad

Ahmadinejad said the two countries’ common views would serve as a vehicle for boosting ties.

“There is much potential for the promotion of Tehran-Dublin relations, and using it will help meet the economic objectives of the two countries and improve collaboration between states of the Islamic world and European countries,” the president told the Irish envoy.

Strengthening ties between Middle Eastern states and the European Union will promote peace and stability in the world, Ahmadinejad added.

Pointing to Iran’s non-aggressive strategy, he said the Islamic Republic is not a member of any military alliance.

He also voiced hope that there would be no more wars in the world and no more bloodshed.

The Irish envoy said ties with Iran should be bolstered in all areas.

Didi added that Dublin is trying to improve understanding among cultures and religions.
