FM spokesman urges regional states to end tensions

TEHRAN, Oct. 21 (MNA) – Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi said countries of the region need to take steps to end tensions.

The official made the remarks in response to the comments made by Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey Numan Kurtulmuş on the impact of Iran’s religious policies on Iraq; “Islamic Republic of Iran’s regional policies are derived from Islamic and humane values and teachings which attach great importance to security and stability of neighboring countries, Muslim states in particular,” Ghasemi underscored.

FM spokesperson went on to note that sectarianism, ethnicity and fomenting religious differences have no place in fundamental regional or international policies of Iran.

“Iran’s spiritual influence arises from goodwill added to respect for independence and territorial integrity of neighbors,” highlighted Ghasemi maintaining that these traits should be easily discerned by observers.

At the end of his remarks, the Iranian official urged regional states to well consider sensitive conditions of the region and take necessary measures to end tensions and disputes.
