Muslim countries should join fight against violence, terrorism

TEHRAN, Dec. 28 (MNA) – Iran’s Hassan Rouhani has congratulated heads of Islamic countries in separate messages on the birth anniversary of Prophet of Islam.

Rouhani’s message expressed long-awaited but unfulfilled hope that unity and fraternity bonds among Islamic nations would be consolidated more than ever drawing upon the blessed conduct of the Prophet Mohammad (AS), and that peace and stability would embrace the world.

“Now, the need is felt more urgent for Islamic countries to discredit the inaccurate violent image reflected of Islam in the international media and public opinion which has promoted Islamophobia, to redeem the true image of the religion which upholds mercy, sympathy, and respecting the rights of others,” Rouhani’s message emphasized. “In this vein, participation of all Muslim countries in fights against violence and extremism becomes an inevitable necessity,” said the message.
