Iran, Afghanistan to coop. on Persian apps

TEHRAN, Dec. 07 (MNA) – Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi announced that Iran and Afghanistan will cooperate on Persian applications.

Mahmoud Vaezi held a meeting with an Afghan delegation in which different issues were discussed. The Iranian minister said that the policy of President Rouhani’s government is prioritizing neighboring countries particularly Afghanistan and added that “fortunately the two countries’ political relations is in its best level.”

Given the success of Iranian companies in Afghanistan, he talked about the software and hardware abilities of Iran saying “we have agreed to continue the cooperation as they were and a meeting has been set up in the evening with Iran’s private sector in which the capabilities of Iranian companies will be introduced.”

Talking about the cooperation of Iran and Afghanistan in fields including software, Persian applications, research, postal services and GNAF (Geocoded National Address File) he announced that five committees of electronic services, telecommunications network and infrastructures, research, regulatory and post will be established.

The Iranian minister also expressed hope that the document of ICT cooperation would be signed by the two countries.
