Araghchi, while emphasizing the importance of clear and solid atmosphere of the talks and the will to achieve a deal, said “reaching an agreement which is satisfying for both sides is a difficult task and we are yet far away from that point,” he added, “however, the efforts continue and it is very soon to judge the possible outcome.”
Regarding the possibility of raising new ideas in the talks, the official asserted that new ideas were part of normal procedure of any talks and said: “it is important to agree upon all issues. If one is left undecided, then there is no agreement at all.”
Araghchi, describing the talks as a tough and complicated task, stated that the main reason was the diversity of issues under negotiation. “We have sanctions at one end and the peaceful nuclear program on the other. The program itself includes different issues like Arak heavy water reactor, enrichment, different nuclear installations, and supervision. This diversity and complexity is a cause of concern.”
He also stressed on the number of negotiating countries as another reason that added to difficulty and complication of the talks and makes it longer.
Iranian deputy FM concluded that both sides were willing to reach an agreement, "however, considering the issues, it is a difficult task."
