Shia Muslims commemorate Arbaeen

TEHRAN, Dec. 23 (MNA) – Forty days after Imam Hussein's martyrdom on Ashura - Prophet Mohammad's grandson, (peace be upon them) - millions of Shia Muslims in Iran and around the world commemorate Arbaeen. 

The Arbaeen ceremony is always among the largest peaceful gatherings around the world.
 
Ashura tragedy represents stance of truth against falsehood and humanity's struggle against tyranny realized by Imam Hussein (PBUH). 
 
Many Shia pilgrims gather in Iraq’s holy city of Karbala every year to commemorate Arbaeen.
 
Over the past days, large crowds of mourners from across the world have arrived in Imam Hussein's shrine in Karbala.
