Campaigns should be vigilant about plots to undermine election

TEHRAN, June 6 (MNA) -- The chairman of the Election Office of the Interior Ministry proposed on Saturday that each presidential candidate set up a committee in his campaign office to ensure that the election laws are not violated on election day.

Kamran Daneshjou, who is also the deputy interior minister, said the enemy’s media outlets have been producing propaganda meant to undermine the activities of the organizers of the country’s presidential election.

And unfortunately, some people inside Iran have been repeating the same words both due to their concerns and out of negligence, he added.

“They apparently do not listen to the facts that we produce based on statistics and documentation, but (they) listen to the enemy’s words… and repeat them,” Daneshjou stated.

He warned that the enemy may seek to trick certain candidates’ polling station representatives into violating the election laws in order to disrupt the voting process.

Daneshjou urged the presidential candidates’ campaign officials to be vigilant about such plots and to choose polling station representatives who can foil them.
