The Secretariat of the 8th Farabi International Award added that those who are interested in submitting their works on Iranology and Islamic Studies should make sure to do so before the deadline.
All the foreign researchers in the field of Islamic Studies and Iranology have until the end of August 31 (Wednesday) to register their works, including the final research report, theses, and books written in the past four years (from the beginning of the Iranian New Year in 2012 to the end of the Iranian calendar year in 2016), on the site of the Award, the Information and Advertising Department of the Secretariat of the 8th Farabi International Award reported.
Where the domestic sector of the Award is concerned, the Secretariat has received 3,760 works from writers, authors, translators and researchers, as well as universities, institutes, and scientific communities.
According to the Head of the Award Secretariat Hossein Mirzaei a maximum of 35 winners are predicted to receive awards at this festival.
Farabi International Award, specifically aimed at the development of Islamic Humanities, attempts to strengthen potentials, pay enough attention to the necessity of knowledge production in accordance with the local needs of the leading Islamic community, and build motivational and supportive capacities for research and innovation.
The Award is held annually by the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology and in collaboration with UNESCO, ISESCO, and Iran’s National Elites Foundation, and its permanent Secretariat is located at the Institute of Social and Cultural Studies.
