“This kind of discourse is prejudiced, and in contrast with the positions held by other French officials,” said Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi, in Tehran on Tuesday, in reaction to anti-Iran accusations made by François Delattre, the Permanent Representative of France to the United Nations’ HQ in New York.
The Iranian diplomat stressed that according to numerous reports of the UN nuclear watchdog — the International Atomic Energy Agency — Iran has been fully committed to the letter of the Iran-Sextet agreement of July 14 but the other side has still way to go. Ghasemi lamented that Iran’s expectations from the westerners have not been fulfilled yet and it is necessary for the westerners to reciprocate implementation of the agreement.
“The words of the French mission to the UN, François Delattre, was far from reality, in a bid to cover up the all-out intervention of France in Syria which has burdened a heavy cost, humanitarian and financial, on Syrians,” contended the spokesperson of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ghasemi condemned the role of France and some other countries in Syria for ‘sending arms and funds to terrorists groups of no responsibility' which has made the situation 'more complicated and spread instability in the Arab country.’
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported the halt of violence and start of reformations in Syria as it believes that the solution to the problem is in national dialogue in the frame of Syrian-Syrian talks,” reiterated the Iranian official.
Ghasemi voiced regret that France, in addition to attempt for destabilizing the region, in line with creators and feeders of the ISIL, Taliban, and al-Qaede [referring to the Saudi hand behind formation of extremist terrorists groups of Wahhabism in the region], has recently hosted the rally of an anti-Iran terrorist group who have claimed responsibility for a total of terrorist acts in Iran with a death toll of 17,000 civilians and officials.
