Zarif, PM Solberg meet in Oslo

TEHRAN, Jun. 14 (MNA) – Iran’s FM Zarif, during his three-day visit to Norway, met and talked with the European country’s Prime Minister Erna Solberg.

Mohammad Javad Zarif discussed bilateral issues as well as regional and international issues during the Monday meeting with the Norwegian PM.

Zarif conveyed warm greetings of the Iranian President to Ms. Solberg, “President Rouhani has invited you to make a visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

The Iranian foreign minister further pointed to possible venues for expansion of ties between the two countries including cooperation in the fight against terrorism and extremism, exchange of views on regional issues as well as collaboration in various economic areas like fisheries, steel and energy.

Norway’s PM Erna Solberg, for her part, emphasized that the JCPOA agreement has brought about proper grounds for bolstering political and economic relations between the two sides in various arenas voicing hope that Iran-Norway talks and cooperation will help in finding a political solution to the Syrian crisis as well as in offering the crisis stricken areas access to humanitarian aid.

The two sides at the meeting also conferred about the conditions in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as ways to confront terrorism and extremism.
