Iran reaches Asian Uni. Futsal C’ship final

TEHRAN, Apr. 27 (MNA) – Iran Azad University's futsal team has beaten Tajikistan in the march to the finals of 2016 Asian University Futsal Championship in Kazakhstan.

The semifinal round of Asian Futsal Championship among students was held on Tuesday in Almaty where Iran and Kazakhstan A teams managed to find their ways to the finals.

Futsal players of Azad University showed eye-catching athletic skills by overwhelming Tajikistan in the semi-finals.

Mojtaba Hassannejad, Danian Kivili, Aref Boluk and Ali Mahmoudi each scored 2 goals for Iran while Hamidreza Pourjavid and Alireza Rafeipour netted two more goals to give Iran a total of 10.

Meanwhile, the two representatives of the host country present at the sportive event also met on Tuesday while Kazakhstan A managed to secure a place in the finals.

Accordingly, Iran Azad University outfit will play against Kazakhstan A on Wednesday afternoon in an attempt to claim the title in the second edition of the tournament.

Kazakhstan B and Tajikistan will also compete over the third ranking.

Attended by eight teams from Iran, Tajikistan, China, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan (2 teams) the 2nd Asian University Futsal Championship is underway in Almaty, Kazakhstan from 21 – 28 April 2016.
