TEHRAN, June 3 (MNA) – The Leader of the Islamic Republic has said enemies incite fratricide in Islamic societies.

Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei addressed the closing ceremony of the select competitors in the 31stInternational Quran Competition in Imam Khomeini (RA) hosseiniyeh (a Shiite Islamic hub for congregation) in the birth anniversary of Twelver Shiites’ 4th Imam Zeinol Abedin bin Hossein (as) (also nicknamed Sajjad).

The Leader told the meeting that ‘intimacy with Quran’ would bring the greatness and esteem for Islamic Ummah. “The greatest plight of the Islamic world is unawareness of the enemies’ plots. They have waged policies to incite fratricide and proxy war among the Islamic societies,” added the Leader.

He believed that the ultimate end in reciting and memorizing Quranic verses was to understand the message and act according to this message, and intimacy with God’s words. “The heavenly blessings and understanding Quranic criteria to know the enemies hinge upon close companionship of Quran,” the Leader said.

“Reflection in the meaning and subtext of Quran would bring down to Muslims the glory promised by God,” Ayatollah Khamenei asserted, and that “the young cohort’s acceptance of Quran and the book’s popularity with them after the Revolution was a great blessing.”

“Intimacy with Quran is an indication that the heart is prepared to receive heavenly guide. Today, the greatest plight for Islamic world is ignoring the intimacy with Quran and subsequently, to remain unaware of the enemies’ rouses,” he told the meeting.

Ayatollah Khamenei added that Islam’s enemies waged proxy wars in Islamic societies; however, he warned that “some parts of the Ummah ignore such policies, and they easily fall to the trap of fratricide or even cooperation with the Zionist Regime.”
