President Rouhani was accompanied by First VP Es’hagh Jahangiri, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Leader’s senior aide for International Affairs Ali Akbar Velayati, Health Minister Hassan Ghazizadeh Hashemi, Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi, Minister of Economy Masoud Karbasian, Minister of Culture Abbas Salehi, and Governor of Central Bank of Iran Valiollah Seif.
At the first leg of his official visit to the two European countries, President Rouhani arrived in Zürich on Monday and was welcomed by his Swiss counterpart Alain Berset.
An hour after the official invitation ceremony, the two presidents had a private meeting followed by a cordial meeting between President Rouhani and Iranians residing in Switzerland.
The two presidents also attended the meeting of economic cooperation of Iran and Switzerland, followed by the meeting of high-ranking delegations of the two countries.
The two sides signed two declarations of scientific and health cooperation and a road transport cooperation agreement in the presence of President Rouhani and President Alain Berset, who then proceeded to attend a joint press conference and answer reporters' questions.
While in Austria, Rouhani met with Iranians living in the country and was welcomed by his Austrian counterpart on Wednesday morning.
After separate intensive meetings with President and Chancellor of Austria, the two countries signed four cooperation documents in the fields of transportation, water resources management, renewable energies and cooperation in mines.
Rouhani also met with Archbishop of Vienna and had a meeting with Director General of IAEA Yukiya Amano.
He also addressed the conference of the outlook of Iran-Austria economic cooperation and left Vienna for Tehran after Austrian President’s dinner ceremony.
The visit to the two European countries aimed at discussing ways to expand bilateral ties and confer on the future of the Iran nuclear deal after the US unilateral pullout from the agreement on May 8.
