Bern hosts Iran-Switzerland 2nd round of political talks

TEHRAN, Jun. 17 (MNA) – Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi and Swiss Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Pascale Baeriswyl held the second round of political talks between Iran and Switzerland on Friday in Bern, Switzerland.

The two sides, welcoming the progresses achieved during the past year in various economic, political, scientific, educational and environmental fields, called for deepening and broadening of relations and cooperation between the two countries.

They also examined comprehensive cooperation to fight against terrorism which has now turned into a global threat.

Pascale Baeriswyl extended condolences of Swiss president and foreign minister over recent terrorist attacks in Tehran and sympathized with the bereaved families of the victims.

She also underlined importance of implementation of JCPOA, describing it as a significant achievement for the international community.

Takht-Ravanchi, for his part, pointed to the latest developments in the region and Persian Gulf, saying Iran’s policy is based on expansion of cooperation to help restore peace and stability in the region and prevent tensions in the Middle East.
