Iran crowned in 2014 AKF Cadet, Junior & U-21 Championships

TEHRAN, Aug. 12 (MNA) – Iran’s national Cadet, Junior & U-21 karate teams have succeeded 2014-14th Asian Karate Federation (AKF) champions in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Iran’s Ali Golshani in +78 Kg. class in U-21 category defeated all rivals and won gold medal, Iranian female karate athletes in the same category routed their rivals to secure their places in final champions.

Zohreh Barzegar in -53 Kg. and Behnoush Najafi in +60 Kg. and Mhatab Esmaeili in -60 Kg. all won gold medals.

Also Abolfazl Shahrjerdi has won his Japanese rival to win another gold medal for Iran.

Iranian national karate team has gained 13 gold medals and 5 silvers in addition to 6 bronze medals, back to the country to stand top among all 29 countries participating in this round of championships.

Japan hit the 2nd place after Iran with 9 gold and 9 silver medals in addition to 5 bronze medals. Also Kazakhstan achieved the 3rd place with 2 gold medals, 3 silver and 9 bronze medals.

The host, Malaysia stood in 4th rank with 2 gold, 3 silver and 8 bronze medals.
