TEHRAN, Oct. 17 (MNA) – Iran’s Customs Administration reported that more than 4.5 million arrivals and departures at large in the first half of the year, falling on March 20 until Sept. 20.

 

The number shows 15.2% and 11.6% increase in comparison with the corresponding period last year.

 

Of all arriving passengers, some 1,687,600 people were Iranians. This sets 16% growth for Iranian passengers and 13.3% for foreigners.

 

The report added that Mehrabad, Bazargan, and Jolfa offices registered most of the arrivals with 41.2%, 11.4%, and 7.5%, respectively.

 

Of departing list, 71.8% were Iranians while 662,900 foreigners (28.2%) were also listed. The number showed no major growth in comparison with last year record. Again, Mehrabad, Bazargan, and Jolfa had recorded most of the departing names.

 

 

Export of animal products sets 24% growth

 

A remarkable increase was observed this year in the export of salampore, wool, and animal intestine.

 

The IRICA report noted that 17,905 tons of animal products were exported at $76.75 million in the first six months of the year.

 

Cattle exports reached 211 tons, valued at 474 thousand dollars. It corroborated 338% and 228% growth in terms of weight and value. Meanwhile, wool, intestine, and salampore exports set 68%, 31%, 11% growth, compared with the corresponding period last year.

 

Of products, egg and honey export showed 56% and 37% decrease in the said period. Honey valued 782,000 dollars while $1.43 million was reported as the egg export value. These include 2.6% of the whole exports in the six-month period.
