5,000 Hectares In Hamedan Allocated For Tragacanth Cultivation

TEHRAN July 30 (MNA) — The Hamedan Natural Resources Development Organization says that more than 5,000 hectares in the province has been allocated to gum tragacanth cultivation this year with a predicted production of more than 4,000 kilograms.

The production is valued at Rls800 million that will be exported, after fabrication, to Italy, France, Germany and the UK.

 

Mohammad-Zadeh pointed out Hamedan ranks first nationwide in gum tragacanth production and products. This year's production will rise by 120%.

 

He stated that the project has created 3500 job opportunities in the region.

 

Gum tragacanth is used in medicines, hygiene and cosmetic products and other industries.
