5.5 Magnitude quake shakes SE Iran

TEHRAN, May 23 (MNA) – An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale hit near Sarjangal in Sistan and Balouchestan province on Monday.

According to Iran’s Seismological Center affiliated with the Institute of Geophysics of Tehran University, the earthquake occurred at 12:06:43 local time at a depth of 16 kilometers.

The epicenter of the quake was located at 59.99 degrees longitude and 28.92 degrees latitude.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or severe damage.
