Explosion reported in Afghanistan's capital

TEHRAN, Jan. 01 (MNA) – Local Afghan media have reported an explosion in Kabul on Saturday afternoon, with no immediate reports of any casualties so far.

According to local media in Afghanistan, an explosion was reported in Security District 5 in Kabul.

According to Tolo News, the blast is said to have taken place near the intersection of the University of Talim va Tarbiat (Education).

Taliban officials have not yet commented on the matter.

Tolo has cited the deputy spokesman of the Taliban Interior Ministry Aqil Jan Ezzam as saying that two civilians were wounded in the blast. 

The blast was caused by a landmine, the deputy spokesman said, adding that Taliban security forces will investigate the incident.
