Regular Weekly Container Line To Karachi Port Launched

TEHRAN, August 8 (MNA) – Following the successful experience with the India - Iran - Europe shipping line, the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) has launched the Pakistan - Asia shipping line, Petroenergy Information Network (PIN) reported.

The first regular weekly container line to Karachi Port aims to reduce the transit time between Singapore - Malaysia - Pakistan - United Arab Emirates and Bandar Abbas.

 

Providing required facilities for the importers and exporters of maritime consignments has been announced as the objectives for establishing the shipping line. The new line will also reduce cargo transport time from Karachi to Bandar Abbas to three days and from Singaporean and Malaysian ports to Karachi to eight days, the report said, the report said.

 

The inaugural ceremony for the shipping line was attended by Karachi Port authorities, Iran's consul, as well as Chinese and Pakistani officials.
