Sixty students from Tehran and 60 from Paris will begin to create individual illustrations of a Persian literary text in Tehran in late January, the director of the Graphic Art Department of Tehran University’s Faculty of Fine Arts told the Mehr News Agency on Tuesday.
Mostafa Asadollahi added, “The project will begin at the college and each student will draw his own illustration work on the text. The works will be collected, and the ones by the Iranian students will go on display in an exhibit here next summer, and the works by the French students will be showcased in Paris.”
He said he believes the project will be good for both art schools, noting, “This will be the first time such a joint project will be carried out, and it will depict the views of the East and the West on one specific text.”
Asadollahi also stated that art and culture are the best means to communicate with the world and expressed hope that the cultural relationship between the two countries would be expanded.
