Warning the US officials against repeating the fate of defeated empires throughout the history, the parliament speaker emphasized that you [US government] will have to kneel before Iranians.
“Those who chase Alexander’s legacy will share Valerian’s fate: you will kneel,” he added.
Rubio sought to elevate the Trump administration's nationalist policy beyond a daily political slogan, linking it to Western historical and civilizational heritage. In doing so, he essentially tethered an America lacking deep history to European history, attempting to present his administration's foreign policy as a grand project to revive American power.
