Iranian engineers build light well logging machine

The experts at an Iranian drilling company, Pira, succeeded in constructing a logging machine well suited for Iran’s climate and oil industry requirements.

Due to urgent need for such a machine and problems involved in purchasing it from abroad, Pira’s engineers came up with a unique version of this equipment after identifying the discrepancies and inadequacy observed in the foreign ones as well as consideration on incurring cost to the treasury in Forex.

The machine is comprised of a winch that is conducted into an oil well by a hydraulic engine and pump running on gasoline. The operation is very sensitive for it involves an intricate process of controlled speed (of the cable probing the well) in order to avoid contact with other sensitive measuring mechanical and electronic units on the way in the well. The light well logging machine is designed such that no threat of damage could hamper the well operation and other equipment.
