“Cracking down on terrorism all across Syria has paved the ground for reaching better political solutions which could help end the war,” said Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, on Sunday.
The Syrian president made the remarks while meeting with Hossein Jaberi Ansari, the senior assistant to the Iranian foreign minister, in Damascus. Jaberi Ansari met with President Assad immediately after arriving in Syrian capital city of Damascus.
“What is impeding the end of war in Syria is the host of pre-conditions set by pro-terrorists countries,” said Assad.
Referring to recent victories in Daraa, he asserted “these victories demonstrate the iron will of Syrian army and the allied countries in eradicating terrorism and liberating the whole Syrian territory from terrorists."
Jaberi Ansari, for his part, extended congratulations to Syrian president and government over the recent victories of Syrian army and armed forces.
