Iran wants Turkey secure, stable, democrat

TEHRAN, Jul. 16 (MNA) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson underlined that a secure, stable and democrat Turkey is priority for Iran and expressed hope for immediate restoration of peace in the neighboring country.

Bahram Ghasemi, who was reacting to the military coup attempt in Turkey, asserted that Islamic Republic of Iran is following the developments in Ankara vigilantly and with high concern.

Noting the calls Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif had made to talk with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu, Ghassemi said “Iran is deeply concerned about security, stability, unity, democracy and rule of law in Turkey.”
