Karun 3 to be connected to overall power network

TEHRAN, Dec. 14 (MNA) – Karun 3 Power Plant will be connected to the overall power network in the next two months, managing director of Iran’s Hydropower Development Company announced here Tuesday.

As the highest dam in Iran, Karun 3 has consumed over 2.7 million cubic meters of concrete work. It is, however, one of the 11 underway projects on Karun River. The power plant includes eight units, each of them reserving 250 megawatt capacity. According to the Iranian energy officials, four more units can also be developed in the power plant.

 

Underlining the significance of using foreign expertise, Zahmatkesh noted that his company presently cooperates with 10 foreign engineering companies. Speaking at the second Conference on Stone Mechanics, he stated that Iranian mechanical engineers should not limit their work to make new single compartments, stressing they can continue to study the function and defects of their invention in order to present a complete work.
