Martyrs’ Foundation Commemorates U.S. Forces’ Defeat in Tabas

TEHRAN, April 24 (MNA) -- Iran’s Martyrs’ Foundation here on Saturday issued a statement on the anniversary of the American military defeat in Tabas and the martyrdom of Mohammad Montazer Qaem.

Following the victory of the Islamic Revolution led by the late Imam Khomeini and the seizure of the U.S. espionage den by the Iranian students in Tehran on November 1979, U.S. forces intended to free their spies by military invasion, but their attempt resulted in failure, the statement read.

At that time, Qaem intent on culling evidence on the American military invasion of Tabas, went to the region and was martyred there, the statement added.

Iran’s Martyrs’ Foundation commemorates his martyrdom anniversary, and excoriates the crimes of global arrogance and continued conspiracy against Islam and the Islamic Republic, it concluded.
