UNESCO Ready to Participate in Reconstruction of Arg-e Bam

TEHRAN, Dec. 27 (Mehr News Agency) -- The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization has declared that it will participate in the reconstruction of Arg-e Bam, the director of the Cultural Heritage Organization announced on Saturday.

The monument dating back to Sassanid era (224-651 B.C.) has almost entirely collapsed because of the earthquake that occurred on Friday morning in Bam, Kerman Province.

“A great number of the documents kept at the monument have been buried under debris,” he added. “Our experts will do their best to safely unearth the documents for reconstruction at the historical site,” Beheshti concluded.
