TEHRAN, April 8 (MNA) –- The building of Iran’s semi-submersible oil drilling platform, Iran-Alborz, will end in the current Iranian year (March 20, 2008), said the managing director of Iran's North Drilling Co. (NDC) Sunday.

As one of the most advanced semi-floating drilling rigs, Iran-Alborz is made by Iran Marine Industrial Co. (SADRA), added Asghar Rafiei.

The project is completed in collaboration with the Chinese experts, he revealed.

A definite deadline has not been set, however, it is expected that the job will be done in the current year, Rafiei said.

Pointing to the latest developments in the Khesht oilfield, near the southern cities of Shiraz and Bushehr, the official said that the company has taken required steps toward the drilling of the second oil well in the region.

According to him, four production wells as well as one injection well are drilled in the area.
