First unit of Kazerun Power Plant due for winter

TEHRAN, Sept. 25 (MNA) – The first unit of Kazerun Combined Cycle Power Plant, in southern province of Fars, will be operational this coming winter, plant’s project manager told the Persian service of IRNA on Monday.

The Kazerun Plant, with three 160-MW units, is to be delivered at the cost of €342m and several domestic and foreign firms are involved in this project, Javad Jamshidian continued, adding Siemens and two other Iranian companies, Tuga and Pars Generator, are in the process of building the turbines and generator sets. 

 

The main boiler is constructed by South Korean Doosan with cooperation of an Iranian firm and it seems the country is capable of manufacturing most of the equipments by itself, he pointed.

 

Iran Power Plant Projects Management Company (MAPNA) is the main contractor of Kazerun venture.
