Gas export to Nakhichevan to kick off November

TEHRAN, Nov. 1 (MNA) -– By completion of Iran-Nakhichevan gas pipeline swap project in November, the country will export 350 million cubic meters of natural gas to Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic annually. The same amount will also be delivered to Iran via Haji Ghabul-Astara line, spokesman of Azargas Company Azartaj announced on Tuesday.

The cost of pipeline construction has been at $57m, of which, $31m has been provided by Azargas. The agreement signed between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan has made this swap deal possible. Furthermore, it is anticipated that over 52 million cubic meters of gas will be exported this autonomous republic within the remaining months of 2005.

 

The export volume for 2006 and 2007 would witness an increase of 250 and 350 million cubic meters respectively.
