Iran’s Rouhani criticizes some Arab countries’ adventurous policy

TEHRAN, Jun. 18 (MNA) – Iranian president has criticized adventurous foreign policy of some countries in the region as wrong, warning those polices exacerbate the crises in the region.

Hassan Rouhani made the remarks in a phone conversation with Emir of Qatar bin Hamad Al Thani on Monday, during which he also expressed hope that Tehran and Doha can use their potentials to enhance their bilateral trade and economic relations.

The Iranian president praised Qatar for patience and resistance against unfair Saudi-led blockade, saying the Islamic Republic of Iran considers the blockade as unfair and thinks that it can divide the region more than ever and intensify the tensions.

Rouhani underlined that Iran will spare no efforts to help the Qatari people and government as well as the stability in the region.

The Iranian president emphasized that Tehran is pursuing a policy of engagement and dialogue with the countries of the region to end the disagreements and create stability and security in line with the interest of all the nations of the region, saying that the adventurous policies of some countries in the region are wrong.

Rouhani added that their wrong policies can exacerbate the crises in the region, especially in Palestine, Syria and Yemen.

"Today, the people of Palestine, and in particular the inhabitants of Gaza, are living under immense pressures and are being attacked by the Zionist regime on a daily basis, therefore our collective support for Muslims can be effective in alleviating their pains," Rouhani said.

He also emphasized that there is no military solution for Yemeni crisis, calling on everyone to help stability and security in the war-torn country and the region.

Rouhani said that the recent attack on Hudaida has exacerbated the humanitarian crisis, adding that the continuation of war would inflict more pressures on the poor people of Yemen.

The Iranian president stressed that it is everyone’s duty to help the oppressed and deprived Yemeni people.
Rouhani emphasized the need for regional consultations between the two countries and strengthening relations in line with the shared interests of the two sides.

Emir of Qatar, in turn, congratulated Eid al-Fitr on the people and Government of Iran, saying the long-standing relations between Iran and Qatar are developing on a daily basis, adding that Qataris are determined to strengthen the bilateral relations in all fields.

Bin Hamad Al Thani said that he is personally observing the process of developing relations between the two countries.

He furthermore expressed his appreciation to the people and the government of Iran for their support during the ongoing blockade, saying that Qatar will never forget the Iranian supportive position.

”We believe that resolving all disputes in the region is possible only through dialogue, and no country can impose its position on other countries,” he stressed.

He emphasized that Qatar's policy is to support the Palestinian people, adding "we support the resistance of the Palestinian people and continue our policy."

Bin Hamad Al Thani also wished success for national Iranian football team in the Russian World Cup.
