US-led coalition bombs PMF positions on Iraq-Syria border

TEHRAN, Jun. 18 (MNA) – Iraqi officials say that US-led fighter jets carried out airstrikes against Popular Mobilizations Forces just across the border with Syria, killing at least 20 PMF troops and wounding dozens more.

Iraqi MP Ferdos Awadi said in an interview with Sumeria TV on Monday that the US-led coalition had carried out attacks on Popular Mobilizations Forces (PMF) troops around midnight just across the border with Syria near Boukamal.

Meanwhile, the Syrian state media reported an airstrike on pro-government troops in the east of the country.

The Syrian TV said that the air strike took place around midnight in the village of al-Hari in the southeast of Boukamal, where the US-led coalition are helping Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the fight against the ISIL.

The US-led coalition troops have denied that their forces carried out any attacks on Syrian and Iraqi forces.

The Iraqi officials have announced that they will conduct an investigation on the strike and will release the results in the coming days.
