“According to the available statistics, China and India are respectively ranked first and second to produce knowledge in the field of fuzzy systems, with Iran standing in the third place, said Mohammad Mahdi Zahedi, speaking at the Congress to commemorate Professor Lotfi Zadeh here on Tuesday.
Noting that Professor Lotfi Zadeh is better known as the innovator of fuzzy logic in the world, Zahedi said the scientist can be a successful role model for students and young people in the field of science and technology.
Fuzzy systems theory was first made an object of controversy, skepticism and hostility, Parliament Education and Research Committee head noted, in recent years, however, fuzzy logic has gained wide recognition and is now used with success in a broad variety of applications.
“After a period of initial skepticism and rejection and after some scientists of the time did not accept his logic, Lotfi Zadeh continued his way and today, the fuzzy logic is finding growing acceptance in the world,” he underlined.
His theory is applicable in different scientific fields including humanities, management, economics, engineering and medicine, he added.
